Mull Community Sports Hub

Project Value: £1.5m
Client: Mull RFC Community
Design Stage: B,C
2010 - ongoing

City Architecture Office is working with Mull RFC Community Sports to create a sports hall on the Isle of Mull.

A feasibility design appraisal shows the vision for new facilities and how they compliment the clubhouse.

This is integral to a long term programme of improvements and expansion of facilities at Garmony. The design achieves an optimal layout to suit access and phasing.

The Sports hub brief has 3 key requirements:
1. Full disabled access
2. An indoor sports hall: multi-sport basketball/ 4 court sized
3. Male and female changing

There is also a conditioning room, meeting facilities and terrace onto the pitches. Ventilation is passive, whilst heat and power will be from wind turbines. Materials are robust to suit the climate.

The proposals are a core part of ongoing actions to realise the vision a sustainable community sports hub for the Island.
