Redcar seafront brings a contemporary approach to historical and traditional aspects of the site. The proposed redevelopment is for an integrated series of dynamic components - Boardwalk, Tower and Park.
The boardwalk creates a clear and beautiful linear promenade along the seafront. The visitor experience is greatly enhanced and space is provided for seaside activities by separating cycle and pedestrian traffic, de-cluttering the promenade.
The tower is an iconic addition to the townscape of Redcar, providing a focal point to the seafront. It firmly puts Redcar on the tourist and architectural map.
Conceived as a vertical pier, its top deck viewing platform affords stunning 360 degree views allowing visitors to understand the relationship of Redcar to its environment.
The park is a sheltered and restful area linking the Tower development to the town.
